About this project
Thanks to the generosity of the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media, I was awarded $2,500 to complete an independent journalism project. I chose to travel to France to report on the Women's World Cup in 2019. The tournament took place from June 7th-July 7th in cities all across France. Over this time period, my stories were viewed by over 400 unique visitors and this site had 30+ subscribers. I visited Paris, Montpellier and Nice. All of the stories that I wrote while I was abroad are featured on this page, check them out below!
Interview with Coach Anson Dorrance
Coach Anson Dorrance is currently the head coach for the UNC Women's Soccer Team, but is perhaps better known for his role as the head coach for the U.S. Women's National team in the first Women's World Cup in 1991. I sat down with Coach Dorrance to discuss the deep connection between UNC and the USWNT, his role on both teams, and his predictions for this years World Cup in France. Check out my interview here.
